“Customer service skills are a top priority, along with required training. This is especially true for DSS security personnel who represent the ports in New York and New Jersey.”
Eugene ("Gene") O’Donnell
Gene oversees DSS’ daily operations at several critical infrastructure facilities under our contracts with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYC EDC). To manage security operations at these heavily trafficked and highly sensitive locations, Gene collaborates regularly with a wide number of local, state, and federal agencies. Every day, he works to ensure that every post is covered and that DSS maintains full compliance with the terms of its contract with PANYNJ. He also monitors operational safety, security program integrity, and client satisfaction with DSS performance.
Before joining DSS, Gene directed security at these same Port Authority facilities. Prior to that, he spent 16 years in senior security management positions for a leading security services provider and for major corporate entities. He began his career as a correctional officer for Middlesex County in New Jersey.
Gene holds a New York / New Jersey Waterfront Commission Management Security License (MSO), Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC), and Security Worker Access Consortium (SWAC) credentials. He is a certified Maritime Facility Security Officer (MFSO).
